This Valentine’s Day season, the district has partnered with the Pueblo City-County Library District, which annually hosts a “Blind Date with a Book” display.

The plan reflects the district’s commitment to becoming a destination district—one that delivers high-quality learning experiences while thoughtfully responding to our significantly underutilized school buildings across our school district.

The progress was substantial enough that the Colorado Department of Education invited Superintendent Dr. Barbara Kimzey to present at a statewide press conference held on January 13, 2026.
